Guide: Using the Calculator Feature

This guide will walk you through the Calculator feature in LeadQuizzes, enabling you to create quizzes that calculate scores based on user responses. This feature is a fantastic way to engage your audience and provide personalized feedback based on their answers.

Overview of the Calculator Feature

The Calculator feature allows you to:

  • Assign numerical values to quiz answers.

  • Calculate a total score based on user responses.

You can utilize this feature in both Outcome Logic and Scoring Logic quizzes.

Adding Questions to Your Quiz

Create Your Quiz

  • Log in to your LeadQuizzes dashboard.

  • Click on "Generate Now" in the Calculator Box or select an existing quiz to edit.

  • Navigate to the Build tab.

Add Questions

  • Drag and drop the calculator element to start creating the Calculator Quiz question.

  • Choose from various calculator question types such as:

    • Multiple choice (Checkbox)

    • Single choice (Radio Buttons)

    • Dropdown

    • Number

    • Slider

    • Star Rating

    • Inner Formula

  • Assign values to answer choices:

    • Add a numerical value for each answer option as required in Multiple choice, Single Selection, and Dropdown elements. (Both the NAME and VALUE can be numerical if desired)

    • These values will be summed to calculate “Final Score” or they can be used to calculate the scores inside the inner-formula elements as well.

Tip: Clearly label each question and answer to ensure users understand their choices and the associated scores.

Using Calculator Element

Header:

  • Under Header you have “Calculator Header” on the left side and drag and drop it to the Content Header box on the right side.

  • The Calculator Header element allows you to write a title and description for your calculator. You have the option to add a Title and Description text to your header.

Note: It is not Required to add a Calculator Header to your Calculator. You will still be allowed to save your Calculator without a header. However, you are required to add at least a title if you are using the Calculator Header element.

Calculator Fields:

  • Next, you have the Calculator Fields Options on the left side of the screen from which you can select the desired field type:

  1. Numeric

  2. Multiple Selection

  3. Single Selection

  4. Dropdown

  5. Slider

  6. Star Rating

  7. Inner Formula

  • Drag and drop the Calculator Field(s) you want to add from the left side of the screen to the Calculator Fields Box on the right side of the screen.

  • You can also edit the Button Label and enable a Skip Form Option on this screen and also the additional information fields required as per the Calculator Field you choose. You can add multiple fields to your calculator.

Inner Formula:

The Inner Formula can be placed anywhere in the Calculator form. It is used to perform calculations within sections, or to derive results for presentation; it can be used as many times as needed. It uses values from other fields within the Calculator form and allows you to apply mathematical formulas to them in order to present the calculated answer, score, or other derived numeric results.

Final Formula:

The Final Formula is displayed at the very end of the calculator form. It is used to perform calculations, just like the Inner Formula. It can use the values derived from the Calculator form to apply the math formulas, so you can present to the user the final result, like final score, numbers or any kind of answer.

Note: Formula Confirmation (inner and final). To ensure your calculations remain accurate, our calculator automatically checks your formulas for changes. If you reorder or delete any elements used in your formulas, you'll see a yellow alert. This means you should revisit your formulas and either confirm they're still correct or make any necessary adjustments. This feature helps you maintain the integrity of your calculations as you work.

Preview and Publish

Use the Preview option to simulate the user experience. In the Design tab of your quiz, you can test your quiz. This enables you to see how the calculation will work and to verify the results you get.
